Public Transport

The Hague boasts an excellent public transport. Over 30 bus and tram lines will quickly and safely take you to your destinations in The Hague, Scheveningen and Kijkduin, as well as to the adjoining municipalities of Voorburg, Rijswijk, Wassenaar, Wateringen, Leidschendam and Delft. RandstadRail offers excellent light rail connections to Zoetermeer and Rotterdam.

Business en Congresscard

For businessguests the HTM developed two special tickets: the Businesscard and Congresscard. Do you want to give the delegates of your event or conference the best service? Then rent an information stand.

OV chip card

Last year, the OV chip card, a pre-paid swipe card system, was introduced and from February this can also be used on the RandstadRail routes. The OV chip card can be purchased from the Hollands Spoor Station, The Hague Central Station and from the HTM Customer Service at Wagenstraat 35. The OV chip card is not restricted to a particular area, but can be used throughout The Netherlands on all trains and all bus, tram and metro lines.

Tourists

There is no special OV chip card for tourists. If you do not yet have an OV chip card, it is best to buy an 'anonymous’ OV chip card. This card, which is valid for five years, costs a one-off amount of € 7.50. You can then top up this card with the balance you require. After each trip, the cost of that trip will be deducted from your balance.

Day ticket: valid for 24 hours

If your stay in The Hague will be longer than just a day, you might want to take advantage of the day ticket 'The Hague’. This is a convenient ticket that allows you unlimited travel within certain zones: The Hague, including Scheveningen, Rijswijk, Voorburg and Leidschendam. And by paying just a bit more the day ticket 'The Hague Plus’ also include Wateringen, Delft, Ypenburg and Nootdorp. Day tickets are only on advance sale at the Tourist Information Office, at the reception desks of many hotels and at HTM Customer Service in The Hague Central Station and Hollands Spoor Station.

Non-rush-hour ticket

If a single return ticket is all you need, consider using non-rush-hour alternatives: the HTM non-rush-hour tickets 'The Hague’ or 'The Hague Plus’. The non-rush-hour ticket is a day-return ticket that can be used Monday through Friday when you have it stamped after 9am. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, it’s valid all day long. You can purchase these tickets from the driver but it’s less expensive to buy it in advance from HTM Customer Service in The Hague Central Station, Hollands Spoor Station and Wagenstraat 35.

NachNet

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, seven different HTM NachNet night buses operate from Buitenhof to town or Zoetermeer and Westland. Tickets for the NachtNet service are available from the bus driver.
